Welcome to the memorial page for

Alice Louise Brown

July 21, 1945 ~ July 30, 2017 (age 72)

Alice Louise Frederickson Brown left this earth life on Sunday July 30th. Her last words, focused on service, were given to her ward family just moments before her passing. They exemplified the life she lived, a life of selfless service to her family, friends, and community.

Alice loved spending time with her 42 grandchildren. She inspired creativity with sewing projects, crafts, candy making, and numerous other projects.

She always had something yummy baking in the oven. She was an amazing cook. Baking homemade bread and rolls, Thanksgiving pies, banana bread, Sunday roast, and turkey dinner, were her specialties.

She came to know the Savior through the challenges she faced in life. She filled journals with thoughts as she studied the scriptures each morning. The strength she found in the scriptures, in the temple and in the words of the prophets carried her through the loss of her two sons, Steven and Benjamin. She missed them greatly and is now enjoying a wondrous reunion with them.

The day of her passing also marked the 52nd wedding anniversary to her husband Lloyd Brown Jr. They were married in the Idaho Falls Temple on July 30, 1965 and went on to nurture and raise 9 children; Steven Lloyd Brown, David R Brown (Polly), Leisa Lynn Brown Oka (David), Michael Alexander Brown (Kathryn), Tena Ann Brown Winterton (Jerry), Benjamin Alan Brown (Andrea), Andrew James Brown (Lori), Cindy Louise Brown Peterson (Nick), and Shelly Lyne Brown Monsen (Michael).  Alice was a dedicated wife and mom.

Alice was born to Jack and Zelpha Frederickson on July 21, 1945 in Twin Falls, Idaho, the 7th of 9 children. She grew up dipping chocolates and serving ice cream in the family’s candy store. At the young age of 18, she lovingly cared for her dying mother.

Alice had a big heart and will always be remembered for being genuine, humble, enduring, fun, creative, spunky, beautiful, selfless, talented, loving, caring, crafty, and giving, for showing kindness to everyone, for her laughter, and her devotion to family. She truly exemplified what it means to lose yourself in the service of others.

She will be greatly missed. We look forward to the day we will be with her again.
