Phyllis Agusta Robison Johnson, age 98, peacefully passed away June 19, 2018. She was born September 14, 1919 in Fillmore Utah to Melvin Alonzo Robison and Fauntella Davies. Phyllis grew up in Flowell, Utah and Fillmore, Utah. She graduated from Millard High School in 1937.
Phyllis started working at an early age while living with and helping her grandmother and attending elementary school. She continued by caring for her younger siblings during the depression while her parents made a living for the family. She went on to Nanny for relatives in Salt Lake City and California. After high school graduation she worked at the high school library and then the Fillmore bank. Later, she became a farmer’s wife and continued working wrangling a flock of a thousand turkeys, many herds of cattle, operating farm equipment and cooking for hired hands.
She enjoyed making clothing for her sisters and children, quilts and baby blankets, and beaded jewelry, as well as being an avid reader. Phyllis contributed to the community by volunteering with 4-H clubs, Relief Society, and working with the Cancer Society during the early cancer screening events.
Phyllis will be greatly missed by her daughters Jackie Ethelbah and Jill Johnson. She is survived by 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 1 great, great-grand daughter, sisters Estell Bennet, True Huber (Lee), Faun Guillette (Carl); and brother, Parley (Ilene) Robison, Sister-in-laws, Pearl Robison and Phyllis Anderson. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Johnson, her parents; and brothers, Melvin Junior Robison and Jarold Robison.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Delta Stake Center (125 White Sage Ave, Delta). Interment will be at the Delta City Cemetery under the care of Olpin Stevens Funeral Home. Online condolences can be offered at www.olpinstevensfuneralhome.com
