Amelia Marie Maxfield

(Amelia’s Aunt)

To know Amelia was to know Adventure, a living Miracle, Everything good, Love at its fullest, an Inspiring soul, And so much more. To know Amelia was to love Amelia. Amelia was born to Marcor and Joni Maxfield on December 29th, 2023, and instantly became their whole world. Just before Amelia’s first birthday, doctors discovered she had been born with a rare heart condition called congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries. She almost passed away from this condition last December, so we are very grateful for Primary Children’s and her medical team who were able to give us almost another year with her. During that year on March 30th, 2025, Amelia got promoted to big sister when Colette Adela Maxfield was born, and Amelia instantly fell in love with her own little baby girl.  On November 13th, 2025, Amelia went into the hospital for her main open heart surgery to complete a double switch and repair her heart. Due to complications from this surgery, Amelia passed away peacefully in her parents’ arms on November 20th, 2025. Amelia’s years here on earth were full of life, light, and the joy she found in all this life had to offer. She especially loved painting, coloring, looking at pictures, exploring outside, camping in the mountains, playing on sandy beaches at the lake, going for walks, playing with her dog Bella, and riding around in her very own power wheel jeep. She brought joy into all of our lives, and we hope we can honor her by continuing to live with joy, choosing gratitude for the miracle of the almost two years we had with her, continuing to do the things she found so much joy in, and by speaking her name and sharing the memories we loved creating together. We love you little Amelia, and you have forever made our lives better. Although we may not have received the miracle of healing we hoped and prayed for in this life, we are grateful for the miracle of our Savior Jesus Christ who has promised Amelia a perfect heart and our family the gift of forever. We look forward to the day when we will be able to hold her in our arms again.

We will celebrate Amelia’s life on November 29th, 2025. Her viewing will be at the Fillmore Stake Center from 9:30-10:30 that morning followed by her funeral at 11:00am. She will be buried next to her grandma Adela Dianne Maxfield in the Kanosh, Utah Cemetery. We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support our family has received during this time. It has touched our hearts to see how far Amelia’s love traveled and how loved she was in return.
