She married Wayne B Spencer on August 7, 1965, in Spanish Fork, Utah. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Provo Utah Temple on December 15, 1979. Together, they made their homes in Spanish Fork and Salem before eventually settling in Delta.

A trailblazer in her community, Barbara was also one of the first female members to serve on the Spanish Fork Chamber of Commerce.

Barbara was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings, including as Relief Society President. She found great joy in offering compassionate service to others. Barbara and Wayne were blessed with the opportunity to serve together in the Florida Tallahassee Mission. She really loved the members of the Madison Branch where they served and made many lifelong friends. She also cherished her time serving in both the Manti and Payson Temples. Barbara had a deep love for genealogy and took pride in her pioneer heritage.
