Barbara Ainge Spencer, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025 in Delta, UT. She was 78 years old.
She was born on January 14, 1947 in Payson, UT to Don Bennett and Theda Lay Ainge.
She married Wayne B Spencer on August 7, 1965, in Spanish Fork, Utah. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Provo Utah Temple on December 15, 1979. Together, they made their homes in Spanish Fork and Salem before eventually settling in Delta.
Barbara attended schools in Spanish Fork and graduated with the Class of 1965 from Spanish Fork High School. She later earned her certification from the Mary Kawakami College of Beauty and went on to open The Silhouette Salon in Spanish Fork. A trailblazer in her community, Barbara was also one of the first female members to serve on the Spanish Fork Chamber of Commerce.
Barbara was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings, including as Relief Society President. She found great joy in offering compassionate service to others. Barbara and Wayne were blessed with the opportunity to serve together in the Florida Tallahassee Mission. She really loved the members of the Madison Branch where they served and made many lifelong friends. She also cherished her time serving in both the Manti and Payson Temples. Barbara had a deep love for genealogy and took pride in her pioneer heritage.
She is survived by her loving husband, Wayne, and their children: Ryan (Christie), Matthew (Shiela), Sarah, and Michael (Leslie). She is also survived by eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and her sisters, Judy Daniels and JoAnn (Randy) Gordon. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Karen Gray.
Friends may call Monday, July 7, 2025 from 6-7 pm for a viewing at the Sutherland 2nd Ward Building located at 3120 W. 2600 N. Sutherland, UT.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at 10am at the Payson Cemetery located at 400 N. 800 E. Payson, UT
The Family would like to thank those who helped care for Barbara these last few months. A special thank you to Dr. Crapo, Dr. Dekker, and all the staff at Millard County Care and Rehab.
