Darrel McKee Teeples

April 15, 1926 — August 2, 2019

Darrel McKee Teeples passed away peacefully at his home of 69 years in Holden, Utah on August 2, 2019.  He was born April 15, 1926 in Holden, Utah to Chloe and Arnold Teeples. 

Dad’s greatest joy was his family, he loved and was very proud, to be a husband to the love of his life of 71 years, and being a Father, Grandfather, Great grandfather and Great-great grandfather. 

Dad was a farmer and rancher, but his true passion was cedar post cutting, with his faithful companions, his dog’s which he had many over the course of his life.  It was often said that dad cut enough cedar post to fence off the state of Utah and still have a post left over.  Dad loved outdoor sports:  hunting, fishing, Millard high football and wrestling, up until the time his health would not allow it. 

Dad served honorably in the United States Army during World War II with the 23rd infantry division.  He saw lots of action Liberating the Philippines, Guam, Midway, and then to Japan.

Dad was more than a father, he was a best friend to his 4 sons and will be truly missed.

He is survived by his faithful companion and wife Evelyn Bennett Teeples; sons: Steve Darrel (Cindy) Teeples of Pine Dale, Wyoming; Craig Arnold(Connie) Teeples of Holden, Utah; Gary Teeples of Holden, Utah; Darren Teeples of Holden, Utah; one sister Venez Ann Johnson of Holden, Utah;  12 grandkids, 33 great grandkids, and 12 great-great grandkids. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Garth Teeples, sisters:  Wanda Wells and Elma Wade.

A graveside service will be held at Holden Town Cemetery on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 11:00 AM under the care of Olpin Stevens Funeral Home.  Online condolences can be offered at www.olpinstevensfuneralhome.com.
