Derek Lee Maydole

June 10, 1987 — February 22, 2020

Derek Lee Maydole, 32, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2020 at his home in Hinckley, Utah.  Derek was born on June 10, 1987 in Hamilton, Montana to Sandra Hosea Maydole and Gerald Maydole.  Derek met his bride and love of his life at Peoples Market.  He married Mindy Lee Vadnais on June 1, 2013 in Hamilton Montana by the beautiful Betterroot River. 

Derek was born and raised in Darby, Montana.  Derek was a very kind and gentle boy.  He was always concerned about those around him.   As a young boy, he loved skiing, drama, music and art.  Music continued to be a big part of Derek’s life.  He loved all types of music, from country to metal.  Derek had a passion for building, which he discovered working for JMJ Construction and Arrow Builders.  Derek was a die-hard Utah Jazz fan and loved watching their games with his family.  Derek was a member of the Hinckley Volunteer Fire Department.  He loved being involved in the community.  Derek loved that he could make a difference.  Derek was most importantly a father to three children.  He really enjoyed being a big kid right along with them.  He loved having nerf gun wars and playing Minecraft with his kids.

Derek is survived by his wife Mindy, and their three children: Benjiman, Colton, and Mishayla of Hinkley, Utah; his parents Sandra and Gerald Maydole of Darby of Darby, Montana; his Brother Kevin Maydole of Darby Montana; Grandparents Ron and Dee Hosea of Hamilton Montana.  He was preceded in death by Grandmother Barbra Beeman; Grandmother Elizabeth Maydole, Grandpa John Maydole, and Cousin Kayle Hosea.

Funeral service will be at the Delta West Stake Center at 2:00 PM on March 2, 2020.  The viewing will be held prior to the funeral from 12:30 to 1:30 PM at Delta West Stake Center.  Online condolences can be offered at www.olpinstevensfuneralhome.com
