Doris Church Brown

August 31, 1924 — December 11, 2017

8/31/1924 to 12/11/2017

Betsy Doris Church Brown joined her eternal love Glenn Lowell Brown along with her son, grandson and greatest mentor, heavenly father after 93 years.

Grandma Brown is what she was known by most that she loved, served and encountered. She was the most independent woman I have ever known living her entire life without any caretakers as she was caring for others up until the day of her return to her creator.

In her younger years she enjoyed gardening on the farm in Delta with her dear husband, kids and grandkids creating memories some will never forget. She enjoyed the small things in life such as family fishing trips to Fishlake, baking peanut brittle just in time for the holidays, crocheting or quilting a blanket for a new baby in the family or keeping in contact with the many missionaries she so dearly adored.  Grandma Brown had "adopted" many kids and young adults as "grandkids" in the community that she loved so profoundly guiding them to follow the path of heavenly father.  She faithfully spent one day a month with troubled teens doing what she did best, being a grandma.  She would visit the boys once a month with cupcakes, ice cream and birthday cards individualized just for them. The boys looked forward to her visit each month just for a hug and to see her smiling face.  She was a great example to them, and for some, someone to look up to and respect.

Betsy "Doris" Church Brown or Grandma Brown to most will be DEEPLY missed by all who she touched the lives of.

She is survived by her sister Roma Christine Torgersen, her brother Delano "Dee" Church (Ethel), her daughters Darlene Drury and Pamela Gaz, five living grandchildren, many great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren with one due this month.

Proceeded in death by her son Gordon Lowell Brown, her parents Lorraine and George Church, her grandson Thayne G. Drury, three sisters, three brothers, and she joined the loving embrace of her everlasting love, her husband, Glenn Lowell Brown.

A graveside will be held Friday, December 15, 2017 at the Farmington City Cemetery at 3:00 PM.  A viewing will be held Friday, December 15, 2017 from 10:00 to 11:00 in the Delta 3rd and 4th Ward Chapel.  Online condolences can be offered www.olpinstevensfuneralhome.com
