Faye Alldredge Clark reached the end of her wonderfully long and full life on the evening of March 13th, 2026. She was 96 years old. Her last days were spent surrounded by family. Gram was a light in the lives of all who knew her and she will be greatly missed. She was known for her honest assertions, quick wit, her vibrance and strong will, but above all her caring and compassionate personality.

Faye was born on October 5th, 1929, in Oak City, Utah where she spent a happy childhood with her parents; John & Alta Alldredge, and siblings Jean, Johanna, Bill, and Margaret. She graduated from Delta High School and went on to attend Dixie College. On October 14th, 1950, Faye married Rufus Theodore (Ted) Clark. They settled in Sugarville, Utah and went on to create a simple & beautiful life together on their farm. It was there that they raised their four children, David, Paul, Patricia, and Kenneth. Ted & Faye worked hard to keep up the farm and provide their children with the necessities and many other opportunities. Faye wanted to give her children the world and she made it happen to the best of her ability. She truly believed her children were the best around and wasn’t shy in saying so. Together, Ted & Faye created a home that became a place of safety, security, and warmth for all. There are many who remember Faye as a great influence for good in their lives and count her home as their sanctuary. She was a proud grandmother and great grandmother. While Gram never professed to enjoying small, rowdy, children, she loved all her grandchildren fiercely. She was their number one supporter in whatever they were doing and let them know often. Faye was many things to many different people throughout her life. She has been described as a good daughter, a loyal sister, a devoted wife, a kind mother, a loving aunt, the best grandmother, and a wonderful neighbor and friend.

Faye was active in her community and served in many ways. She will be remembered for her volunteer work at the local hospital, at her local church, in her children’s schools, the local museums, and especially to friends and neighbors who she befriended and cared for. She was an ardent and faithful booster of The Great Basin Museum which she helped to found. She collected artifacts, pictures, and histories in abundance to help the museum grow and thrive. She was a successful business woman as the owner of both Alldredge Western Wear and Calico Collection. She worked with many local crafters by providing them an opportunity to sell their goods in her shop.

Gram was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer at the age of 80. She faced this battle with the courage, strength, and determination she was known for and she beat it. We will always be grateful for the 16 years that followed as we enjoyed our visits with her, her sidehugs, her many phone calls to check in and lend us encouragement, and her beautiful smile (as long as you weren’t pointing a camera at her). She was, and her life’s example will continue to be, our anchor.

Faye was an avid reader and lover of books all throughout her life. She always had a pile of books that she was currently reading. A friend recalled that she gave memorable lessons on literature in Relief Society. Towards the end of her life, as her vision was waning, she switched to listening to audio books. Near the end she enjoyed being read aloud to by her son, David and her great granddaughter, Alyvia. She loved plants and plants loved her, as was evidenced by her home filled both inside and out with thriving succulents, colorful blooms, and even a lemon tree. She also had a tender spot for animals, particularly cats. Cats were her favorite and it showed. In her last years, after her beloved Jasper passed, she surrounded herself with everything cats; quilts, artwork, statues, and even a stuffed kitty.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, a son-in-law (Edward Hall), one granddaughter, and many, many farm kitties. We hope that she is having a wonderful reunion with ALL of them.

She is survived by her sister, Johanna Cahoon, and brother, Bill Alldredge, her children; David (Jolene), Paul, Patricia, and Kenneth (Suzanne), 12 grandchildren, and 40 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 4th, 2026, 1:00 p.m. at the RJ Law Community Center 75 W Main Street in Delta, Utah. Online condolences can be offered at www.olpinstevensfuneralhome.com.
