Florice Ellen Stanworth Tracy passed peacefully on January 19, 2024, in Fillmore, Utah at the age of 74. She was born September 14, 1949, in Delta, the eldest daughter of Wardell and Janet (Sanford) Stanworth. Her family moved to Magna when she was seven years old. She graduated from Cyprus High School in 1967 and married her high school sweetheart, Robert Boyd Tracy, on December 20, 196.
She worked in a bakery and a ceramic shop but eventually went to Mountain West College, graduating on May 28, 1987. After graduation, she worked for a law office until she began working at the Episcopal Church of Utah, where she spent the remainder of her career. She retired in October 2002. After retiring, she focused on cooking, baking, and quilting. She learned to free-motion quilt and became an accomplished quilter, winning awards. She moved to Fillmore, with her husband and mother, in 2019 to be closer to her sisters.
She loved quilting, sewing, cooking, reading, and teaching others. She was crafty, whether it be ceramics, handwork, quilting, or baking; she loved to make beautiful things and give them away. She hosted a monthly quilt day for the family to sew, craft, tell tall tales, and of course, eat delicious food. She was a homebody but enjoyed having her family visit, just so long as you didn’t stay too long. She loved her animals and was a kind, generous person. She was also strong, determined, and a bit of a perfectionist.
Her three children; Allen (Kay), Tricia, and Steven (Amy); five grandchildren (Nathan, Samantha, Gaige, Ryan, and Lucas) and three of her sisters (Carolyn (Lyn) Williams, Judy (Steve) Schwartz and Joan (Marc) Caldwell) mourn her passing. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters (Peggy Johnson and Connie Christensen).
She is now reunited with her beloved husband, whom she missed desperately.
