Gary W Moore, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2026, at the Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah, after a courageous year-long battle with Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD). Born on May 28, 1949, in Salt Lake City, Utah,

Gary was the son of Bernard D. Moore and Iova Jorgensen Moore. He is predeceased by his parents, and his siblings, Kurt, Gale, and Neldon Moore. The heartbeat of a large and loving family, Gary is survived by his devoted wife, Sharon Loraine Rowley Moore, whom he married on March 11, 1970, in the sacred Manti Temple. Together, they built a beautiful family, including their children: Renee Moore Johnson, Jay Ryan Moore (Jamie Green), Angela Moore, Anthony Moore, Allison Moore Griffiths (Robert Griffiths), Jennifer Kruse (Bryan Kruse), Randall Moore (April Gourd), and Brandon Moore (Whitney Syler). Gary was a proud grandfather to Sam, Abby, Alex, Sarah, Max, Hannah, Trevor, Maddi, Kari, Kayti, Bobby, Oliver, Calynn, Jade, Audrey, Liam, and Tristan, as well as a loving great-grandfather to seven, and an adored uncle to many nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Granger High School, Gary first studied music at Snow College and then went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Utah State University. Though his love for music was profound, he discovered his true calling in repairing musical instruments at the Woods and Brass Shop in Salt Lake City. Gary also dedicated many years to serving as a school custodian, a role he found deeply fulfilling.

Gary was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He faithfully served 2 years in the German Central Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served many callings in all the wards he belonged to with his calling of serving the saints in the Sunrise Care Center one of his favorites.

His love for trains, airplanes, and cars was only rivaled by his affection for his little red tractor. Gary found immense joy in maintaining his yard with his trusty tractor, always ready to lend a hand to neighbors in need of assistance. His creativity shone through in his woodworking, with his home adorned by numerous handcrafted pieces that reflect his talent and passion.

A funeral service to honor Gary's life will be held on November 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Deseret Oasis Ward Building, located at 4500 S 3423 W in Delta (Oasis), Utah.
