Gary Ross Sperry

Gary Ross Sperry 76 passed away Saturday April 1^st 2023 in Payson, UT at the Orchard view assisted living.  He was born February 1^st 1947 in Payson, UT to Roscoe Sperry & Verda Roylance.  

He served in the Airforce for 7 years & was deployed to Korea on a couple of occasions. Gary met his soul mate Gerri in Spanish Fork, UT they were married Feb 4^th 1966 & had 4 children. After being married they moved to Rock Springs, WY where he was an electrician for FMC mine, then he received a job at Geneva steel so they moved to Spanish fork, UT in 1987 they moved to Delta, UT he worked at IPP as an electrician & retired from there in 2009. Gary enjoyed reading & going on his daily walks, he would often meet his brother Dennis in Nephi, UT to go for walks in the canyon Gary was an Eagle Scout and later in life became an Eagle Scout master for many years.

Gary is survived by his 4 children Robert (Dawna) Sperry, Tish (Mike) Swafford, Matthew Sperry, Brett Sperry (Jennifer Anderson) Brothers Dennis (Mari) Sperry, Mike Sperry. Sister: Helen (Chuck) Lee, 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and another great grandchild on the way.  He is preceded in death by his wife Gerri Sperry, father Roscoe Sperry, mother Verda Roylance, sister Gayle Fonville and brother Randy Sperry.

Graveside service will be held Monday, April 10, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Delta City Cemetery.  The viewing will be held prior to the graveside from 12:30 to 1:30 PM at Olpin Stevens Funeral Home in Delta, UT.  Online condolences can be offered at www.olpinstevensfuneralhome.com.
