Our beloved Gregory Alan Farnsworth, age 71, of Scipio, Utah, passed away on June 30, 2026. The sweet reunion with his parents and many beloved family members was sure to be a glorious time for him. Born on October 3, 1954, in Mexico City, Mexico.

Greg lived a life defined by devotion to family, quiet strength, and a deep sense of responsibility to those he loved. As a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter‑day Saints, Greg had a deep love for his Savior, Jesus Christ, and the scriptures, finding daily guidance, comfort, and purpose in the words he studied and the faith he lived. He was a gentle spiritual giant, quiet in his deep knowledge of the scriptures. He also carried a deep devotion to his country, proudly serving in the United States Army, where he learned discipline, resilience, and a lifelong respect for service. He worked in the field of air defense and was particularly proud of his time spent working on the HAWK Missile System.

Greg found great satisfaction in working with his hands and creating things of beauty and precision. He could figure out how to fix pretty much anything. He really enjoyed restoring old cars and had many neat projects over the years. He also enjoyed refurbishing firearms, building model airplanes, tanks, and cars—projects that reflected both his patience and his eye for detail. His model railroad was a particular source of pride, a miniature world he crafted with care and imagination.

Greg’s sons meant the world to him. His love and loyalty to them was his top priority. Affectionately called Newt and Lewt, he taught them many lessons through his example. He took them on as many adventures as he could cook up throughout their young lives while growing up. Those adventures were the base of many happy memories and so many stories- many of which would have you rolling on the floor in laughter.

Greg married his sweetheart and eternal companion in 2022. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Jordan River Utah temple. He loved her deeply and would have given her the world if it was his to give. He did, however, give her his world, a place filled with love and affection, and deep gratitude for her. At home, Greg loved spending time with her and with his cats, whose companionship brought him daily comfort and joy.

To know Greg was to love him. He was always looking for ways to help others, and many in the communities within which he lived would call on him or bring him projects to work on or to fix. He loved serving those around him and had a remarkable ability to solve any puzzling mechanical problem placed in front of him. His generosity, skill, and willingness to lend a hand made him a trusted friend and a blessing to all who crossed his path. Greg had a vast knowledge of almost anything and everything. He enjoyed sharing what he knew and teaching what he could to anyone who wanted to learn from him. He had a particular affinity towards world history and the many weapons and machines used during those times.

Greg was preceded in death by his loving parents, Wilford Alonzo Farnsworth and Cherie Lou Wickham.

Greg is survived by his loving eternal companion, Cheri, who was his constant companion and the center of his world. He is also survived by his sons and his daughters‑in‑law, Jonathan and Stacey Farnsworth, and Christopher and Regina Farnsworth; his brothers and his sisters-in-law, David and Shawna Farnsworth, and James and Jessica Farnsworth, who will forever remember his steady guidance, humor, and unwavering support.

He leaves behind a treasured posterity of grandchildren: Austin and Kami, Ammon, Thijs, Halley, Ethan, Curtis, and Emmersen Farnsworth, and Aiden Vigil. He also leaves many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Greg took immense joy in each of them, celebrating their milestones, nurturing their talents, and delighting in the unique personalities they brought into his life.

Funeral services will be held on July 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the meetinghouse of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter‑day Saints located at 85 W. 100 N. Scipio, Utah. A viewing will be held beforehand from 10:00 to 10:45 AM. Interment will follow at the Scipio City Cemetery, where Greg will be laid to rest in the community he loved.

Greg will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. His legacy of faith, service, craftsmanship, and quiet devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
