Joshua Wesley Spencer

September 5, 1989 — October 20, 2020

Our much-loved husband, father, son, brother, grandson, and friend passed away in a tragic accident on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 near Leamington, UT.

Josh and his twin brother were born in Colorado Springs, CO and were joyfully welcomed into the family of Joseph Walter Spencer, Jr. and Beverly Bagwell Spencer. Josh grew up in Penrose and Canon City, CO, where he married Megan Marie Shade in 2013. They were sealed in the Payson, UT temple in June of 2019. He lived life to the fullest, working hard, playing hard, and serving others.

Josh had a strong work ethic and enjoyed working as an electrical foreman for Hunt Electric, Inc. Most importantly, he was devoted to his family. He used his many skills, talents, and energy in providing a safe, comfortable, and loving home for Megan and his young daughter. He loved working with horses and participated in many rodeos and team roping events throughout his life, most recently teaming up with Megan to win their first jackpot together. He and Megan also spent seven years as referees for many high school basketball games in Colorado and Utah.

Josh was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Spencer. He is survived by his wife, Megan Marie Spencer; daughter, Bryn Lee Spencer; father, Joseph W. Spencer, Jr. (Michele); siblings Jay Spencer (Marilee), Jeffrey Spencer (Joie), Katherine Cameron (David), KayLynn Hann (Jared), Kristen Spencer, Korinne Spencer, Jesse Spencer (Aubree); parents-in-law Samuel and Melinda Shade; sister-in-law Amanda Shade; grandmother Gloria Spencer; and grandpa Bob Pyne (Claudia). He also leaves behind many beloved nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins, and treasured friends. We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support from family, friends, and community members in Josh's adopted home town of Delta, UT.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 26, 2020 at 11:00 am at the Gunnison Bend Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 188 North Main Street, Hinckley, UT, with internment to follow at the Delta City Cemetery, under the care of Olpin Stevens Funeral Home.
