Margo Susan Wood Darger, 74, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, in Fillmore, Utah, just eleven months after the passing of her sweetheart. She was born on December 5, 1950, in Salt Lake City.
Margo graduated from Granger High School in 1969 and later graduated from beauty school. On January 12, 1971, she married her eternal companion, Marcus Brigham (Brig) Darger. They were sealed together for time and all eternity on March 17, 1972, in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they built a joyful, faith-filled life centered on love, family, and hard work.
Margo and Brig shared nearly 55 wonderful years of marriage. They were true partners through every season of life, raising a large family, serving in their community and church, and enjoying 25 retired years together. They raised their family in West Jordan, Utah, where they created a home full of laughter, love, and memories. After retirement, they moved to Toquerville, where they made many cherished friends and became part of a close-knit community they deeply loved. Whether camping, watching movies, or simply sitting side by side at home, they found happiness in one another’s company. Their love and loyalty to each other remain an enduring example to their family.
Margo worked part-time in the school system, where she helped support and guide students who were struggling. She had a gift for seeing the good in everyone and often opened her heart and home to those who needed extra love and understanding.
Her faith was an anchor throughout her life. She found great joy in serving in the temple for many years and spent countless hours doing family history work, connecting generations with love and dedication. She had a great love for the scriptures, reading and listening to them daily. Her love and faith in the Savior meant everything to her and guided the way she lived and served others.
Above all else, Margo was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her greatest joy came from her family, and she dedicated her life to loving, teaching, and supporting them. Her home was always open and filled with warmth and generosity. The smell of fresh bread or after-school treats often greeted her children at the door, and her kindness made everyone feel cared for. She had a quick sense of humor, a bright smile, and an easy laugh that brought light to those around her.
She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially her beautiful roses, spending time with animals (cats, dogs, and birds), and crafting thoughtful handmade creations. Her family treasures the personalized Christmas stockings she lovingly knitted and the whimsical Santa pins she made for everyone she loved. She also loved relaxing with her favorite TV shows and movies, finding comfort and laughter in those everyday moments.
Margo’s life was rich with music, laughter, and togetherness. She loved camping, playing games and cards, doing puzzles, and spending time with her family. Her resilience, kindness, and cheerful spirit endured through every season of life. She was happiest surrounded by family and found joy in every small blessing.
Margo is survived by her children: Kelly (David) Christiansen, Lori (Rick) McKay, Jared (Heather), Mark (Dee Ann), Robert (Angie), Susan (Greg) Roper, and Shannon (Josh) Phillips; and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren who adored their grandma’s warmth and humor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Brig (November 26, 2024), and joined him shortly after in their heavenly home.
