Listen to Obituary

Mildred (Gagos) Martindale passed away peacefully July 25, 2025 at the age of 90. Her melodious voice and generous spirit will be sorely missed. She touched the lives of all who knew her.

Millie was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado and as a young woman she joined the Air Force which took her to Biloxi, Mississippi. It was there that she met Jack Martindale, a handsome Lieutenant who quickly won her heart. They were married June 7, 1958 and later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. The family traveled for military assignments before settling back in Millie's home town of Boulder in 1969.

She loved serving her family and enjoyed baking bread, canning fruit, making jam, sewing, and crafting. She also served her community through Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Camp Fire Girls.

A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served as a temple worker, chorister, choir member, family history worker, and Primary music leader. Millie especially loved singing and sharing music with everyone around her.

She is survived by her loving husband Jack and their children: Jack Jr. (Lisa), Loree Miles (David), Sylvia Smith, Tina Cannon (Adam), Daniel (Julene), Becky Esko (Kevin), Kenneth (Petra), and Marianna. She is also survived by 19 amazing grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth A and Bertha Gagos, her sisters Harriet Gittings, Evelyn McElheny, Laura Schryver, her daughters Bertha Leona, Jeannette May, Rachael Marie, and her son-in-law David Smith.
