Ramona Quarnberg Thatcher of Scipio, Utah, age 82, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at her home in Scipio, Utah. She was born December 9, 1936 in Scipio to Claude Quarnberg and Hilda Olsen. She married Richard Cecil Thatcher on May 20, 1955 in the Manti Temple.
She spent her entire life in Scipio raising her family. She helped run the dairy farm worked at Lloyd’s Market, worked at the Scipio Sewing plant, cooked at Hillside Farms, and Scipio Stop for many years.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, family get togethers, the deer hunt, trips to Maple Grove, and Easter at Yuba Lake before it was a State Park. She loved to square dance with her husband and friends in their younger years. She also enjoyed going to Riding Club meets and the Jack Pot Roping’s. She was a timer for many years for Round Valley Round up Rodeo. She loved the small town life.
She is survived by her children: Gayle (Steven) Peterson of Levan; Sherri (Gene) Linnell of West Jordan, UT; Valerie (Lynn) Worwood of Nephi, UT; Lee (Stacy) Thatcher of Scipio, UT; Robert (Mistee) Thatcher of Scipio, UT; Leslie (Josh) Willden of Scipio, UT; 26 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren; one brother: Jonney (Laurie) Quarnberg of Beaver. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, a brother Morris, and sister Connie, and one great grandchild Rexton Thatcher.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 11:30 AM at the Scipio Ward Chapel (80 W 100 N). A viewing will be from 9:30 to 11:00 AM prior to the funeral. Interment will be under the care of Olpin Stevens Funeral Home at the Scipio Cemetery. Online condolences can be offered at www.olpinstevensfuneralhome.com.
