Raquel Villegas Flores

In loving memory of Raquel Villegas Flores, born July 17, 1944 in the city of Delicias, Chihuahua, Mexico. Passed away May 18, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  Daughter of Maria Dolores Flores Castillo and Cleofas Villegas Cordero, being the fourth child of eleven.   Raquel attended high school in Chihuahua, Mexico were she loved to play basketball. She was a talented seamstress, making her children clothes out of her clothes. She loved to work with her hands and created many beautiful crochet and embroidered items.  She was an excellent cook and loved to cook for her family. Making tamales, salsa, tortillas and all home cooking, telling stories along with the wonderful food. 

Raquel moved to Utah in 1993 to live with some of her children. Fell in love with Utah and made it her home. She joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1994, serving in the Monterey, Mexico mission for the church in 2007-2009. She held several callings in the Spanish branch 2^nd ward of Delta.

Preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. 

Survived by her nine children Luis, Jesus, Mario, Gilberto, Laura, Javier, Dolores, America and Andres. 16 grandchildren: Brandon, Aldair, Yair, Lehi, Janitzia, Cesar(in Utah) Cinthia, Renne, Arturo, Xochitl, Joan, Joana(New Mexico) Susana, Fidel, Gilberto, Cinthia(Chihuahua) , 13 great grandchildren: Loraina, Natalie, Ariana, Mila, Giovani, Julian(New Mexico), Oakley, Kaisia, Mireya, Mauricio, Mateo, Zeke and one on the way, (Utah) and four brothers and one sister.

She will be deeply missed.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Delta 2^nd Branch Chapel, (222 W 200 N Rd, Delta, UT).   The viewings will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2024 from 6:30 to 7:30 PM and prior to the funeral from 9:30 to 10:30 AM, both in the Delta 2^nd Branch Chapel.
