IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Roy
Cox
January 28, 1933 – January 27, 2026
Roy Cox, born January 28, 1933, in San Jacinto, California, peacefully passed away on January 27, 2026, in Kanosh, Utah. He was the son of Jesse Cox and Lilly Craigor of Corona, California, and one of five children.
At the age of 17, Roy joined the California National Guard. Shortly after joining, his unit, Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion, 160th Infantry Regiment, was deployed to serve in the Korean Conflict. After serving two and a half years, Roy returned home to his family. He then continued his education and proudly graduated from Corona High School, with the Class of 1952.
Roy’s introduction to beekeeping came early—at the age of 12. This childhood experience blossomed into a lifelong passion. Though he explored various jobs and trades over the years—from Culligan man to milkman—his heart always returned to the bees. His career traveled from Canada to Texas, from the Mississippi River, to the Pacific Ocean. His Bee knowledge was vast, his dedication unwavering, and his love for his work apparent to all who knew him. Roy retired from beekeeping in 2018, concluding many decades of hard work and devotion to his craft at the age of 85.
Beyond his profession, Roy cherished the outdoors. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and hunting, and spent countless happy hours engaged in these pursuits—especially gardening, which remained a joy throughout his long life.
Roy is survived by his two children: Robert Cox of Enoch, Utah; and Rod and Shellie Cox of Kanosh, Utah. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and his beloved sister, Eloise Jensen of Washington State. In his later years, Roy grew deeply devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he treasured dearly.
Roy Cox will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His salty disposition, kind eyes, and tender heart touched many lives. Fiercely patriotic and strong-willed, he often hid a quiet kindness that shone through in many meaningful ways.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date and time.
