S. Harvey Fowler was born September 2, 1941 to S. Harvey Sr. and Ruth Thorpe Fowler, in Caliente, NV. He passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2025 in Springville, Utah.
His early years were spent in Union, now Midvale, and later Farmington, Utah. He graduated from Davis High, and shortly after married Delores Barkdull. They had 3 daughters, later divorced. He married Darlene Davies, now deceased. He married Ann, and her 3 children in 1995. Harvey was finally able to be home with his wife, and raise his second family, after so many years of working out of town, all while building a beautiful home to spend his best years with his beautiful wife.
Before moving permanently to Fillmore in 1994, Harvey worked as a carpenter foreman building bridges all over Utah. He later worked for Roper Lumber repairing appliances. Harvey had no formal training, but he could fix anything! He spent his retirement years tinkering around at home.
Harvey spent many days hunting and shooting. He was an avid hunter and almost always filled his tag, probably because he was an excellent marksman. He passed on his love of hunting and shooting to all of his children. He spent many years in the Jeep Patrol. He was a Utah State Pistol shooting champion. Harvey will be remembered for his generosity and love for his family, friends and community. He was always willing to help anyone in need at the drop of a hat. He was a friend to all.
He is survived by his wife Ann; Children Deborah Jones; Kristine (Dean) Shields; Marie (Loren) Taylor; Stephanie(Bret)Sewell; Joseph (Ashley) Rands; and Joshua(Shaina) Rands; 18 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; friend Tom Ward, who was like a brother to him.
Thank you to the staff at the Ashford, for their kindness, love and compassion in caring for Harvey and our family; they truly are angels. The world has lost a great man. May he rest in peace, until we are all reunited.
