Sharen Teeples Bennett “Nana” passed away peacefully at her home in Delta, UT surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, November 23rd, 2025.
Nana was born on January 17th, 1949 in Delta, UT to Ned V. and Melba S. Teeples. She was the third of five children and was born five minutes after her twin sister, Karen. She grew up on the family ranch in South Trac. At an early age she was taught the importance of being a hard worker. She was raised riding horses and working cattle. During her teenage years, she traveled through the State of Utah participating in rodeos. She helped start the High School Rodeo Club and was the Hinckley Rodeo Queen her senior year of high school. She graduated from Delta High School in 1967.
She welcomed two beautiful daughters, Jamie Sue in 1969 and Cami Jo in 1972. On March 12, 1988, she married the love of her life, Carl Dee Bennett. She loved the life they built together. Most of their married life was spent in Nevada where she was a Head Casino Hostess for various casinos. During that time she thoroughly enjoyed meeting new people and was loved by everyone she met. One of her many talents was golfing. She had the opportunity to golf with many celebrities. She was even featured on a billboard on I-15 for the Oasis Casino. Her grandkids were so proud to see their nana on the billboard. Carl Dee and Sharen moved home in 2006, shortly before his death. Throughout her life she held many different jobs. Some of them included being a miner and a BLM firefighter.
She was a friend to all and loved to make people laugh. She was known for her spunky personality. If she wasn’t with her horse, working on a new project, or with Aunt Karen you could find her at the Rancher having a cup of coffee. In her last days, she spent time recovering at Delta Community Hospital after having open heart surgery. Most people at the hospital knew her as “Nana”. She will be deeply missed by all those that knew her.
