Shirl Allen Gager

September 28, 1935 — July 12, 2019

Shirl Allen Gager, our dear husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend left this earth on July 12, 2019 to be with his Heavenly Family.  Born September 28, 1935 in Granger, Utah to Claude W. and Selma Hick Gager.  He married Carol Bea Craner on August 28, 1989 and they were sealed together for time and eternity at the Manti Temple on July 15, 1994. In his earlier days, he was a very talented concrete contractor and raced sprint cars throughout the western United States in his spare time.  He was always busy. He loved working, whether it was on lawnmowers or large heavy equipment. He volunteered for the Holden Fire Department and Cemetery and was often found just driving around the mountains of Holden, exploring.  He took exceptional pride in his yard and garden.  He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter-day Saints.

Shirl is survived by his wife Carol, two sons Wm. Shirl and Shawn (Julie) Gager, daughters Melany (Gary) Swenson, Shara Gager, Kim (Sam) Probert, step children: Vickie (Oliver) Wheeler, Alan Collings and Deanna (Clint) Hall, many grandchildren and step grandchildren, whom he all loved the same.

For those wishing to show their love and respect, a viewing will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 10:00 am to noon at the Holden Ward Meetinghouse (100 North 110 East, Holden, Utah 84636). Graveside service will follow. Interment will be in the Holden cemetery under the care of Olpin Stevens Funeral Home.  Online condolences can be offered at www.olpinstevensfuneralhome.com.
